I found a folder with a bunch of pictures from when my friend Adam Pateman visited and we co-featured together at Joker’s. It was January 2010 and Adam was getting ready to film his Comedy Now, which will air sometime in the distant future.
In Halifax, as soon as a snowfall starts to stick to the ground the citizens fill the sidewalks with their various clearing machines in tow. The odd purist or poverty stricken person shovel away to the brink of cardiac arrest, but the task is largely automated these days. There is buzz on the side streets as people fulfill their civic duty. But nothing compares to the deployment of snow plows through the neighbourhoods. Like the people, the plows come in various sizes and from different economic backgrounds.
